Definition:
The physical weight of the shipment measured on a scale (including packaging).
Example
A box of steel parts weighs 50 kg and occupies little space → charges are based on actual weight.
Definition:
A calculated weight based on the space a shipment occupies, not its mass.
Common formula:
Volumetric Weight (kg) = Length × Width × Height (cm)
_______________________________
Dimensional Factor / 5000
Example
A carton weighs 10 kg but its volumetric weight is 25 kg → charges apply to 25 kg.
Actual weight (weighing scale weight) or Volumetric weight whichever is higher will be charged.
Increase fraction of weight to next Kg if it is above 100 gms (e.g. 1.101 kg will be considered at 2 Kg / 2.101 kg will be considered as 3 Kg so on and so forth)
